When does Gate 33 release?

What platforms will it be available on?

Confirmed: PC (Steam)

Under Consideration: Additional platforms to be announced. We are exploring console releases but have not confirmed any platforms beyond PC at this time.

What's the ESRB rating?

Anticipated: T (Teen) for violence, language, and mature themes. Final rating pending ESRB review.

Gameplay

How long is the campaign?

Anticipated: 10-12 hours for a single playthrough (30 in-game days). However, the game is designed for multiple playthroughs to experience all endings, characters arcs, and moral paths. Completionists may spend 30-40 hours.

Is it like Papers, Please?

Gate 33 is inspired by Papers, Please but goes further. While document inspection is core, Gate 33 adds:

• Recurring characters with multi-day story arcs
• Three-beat consequence system
• Financial survival mechanics (debt, expenses, bribes)
• Faction reputation (Authority, Resistance, Syndicate)
• 7 unique endings based on choices
• Procedural generation for infinite replayability

Is there combat or action gameplay?

No. Gate 33 is focused on inspection, decision-making, and narrative consequences. Violence occurs in the story, but you don't directly engage in combat.

Can I fail the game?

Yes. If you don't pay your debt within 30 days, you face consequences (game over or bad ending depending on choices). However, there are multiple ways to handle the debt beyond honest work.

How replayable is it?

Extremely. With 7 endings, procedurally generated travelers, branching character arcs, and multiple moral paths, every playthrough offers different experiences. Plus, Endless Mode provides unlimited replayability after completing the campaign.

Technical

What are the system requirements?

Not finalized yet. Gate 33 is built on MESH Engine which uses both CPU and GPU processing, automatically switching based on your hardware. A GPU is not required to play Gate 33. Minimum specs will be announced closer to release.

What is MESH Engine?

MESH Engine is TwelveTake's proprietary simulation technology. It intelligently uses both CPU and GPU processing to procedurally generate entities (travelers, documents, stories) in real-time, creating a living world that responds dynamically to your choices. The engine automatically adapts to your hardware configuration.

Will there be modding support?

Yes! The free Scenario Builder (post-launch update) allows players to create custom scenarios. Advanced modding tools are under consideration.

Is there controller support?

Full controller support is planned for PC. The game is designed primarily for mouse/keyboard but will be fully playable with gamepad.

How much does Gate 33 cost?

• Standard Edition: Base game only
• Deluxe Edition: Base game + Season Pass (all DLC)
• Season Pass: All 3 DLC at a discounted price

Final pricing will be announced closer to launch.

Are the DLC required to enjoy the game?

Absolutely not. The base game is a complete 10-12 hour experience with 7 endings. DLC adds new stories, locations, and perspectives but is entirely optional. All free updates (Endless Mode, Scenario Builder, etc.) are available to everyone.

When do the DLC release?

Post-launch DLC schedule to be announced.
